Karen has completed extensive training on the different Playa Hotels & Resorts and shares her tips on finding the right one for you.
Tell us a little bit about the training you completed.
I have completed online training on all of the different Playa brands, including Hyatt, Panama Jack and the Sanctuary. I have also been on a training trip to Jamaica to visit all 7 Playa resorts on the island.
What resort would you recommend for families?
Jewel Runaway Bay in Jamaica is the best for families. I would go there just for the water park. Believe it or not there is even a snowcone cart!

What resort would you recommend for a romantic getaway?
I would recommend Jewel Paradise Cove in Jamaica. This is a nice, smaller, adults only resort with a focus on wellness. They even have specialty wellness retreats throughout the year.
What is your personal favourite resort?
My personal favourite is Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall for several reasons. It's close to the airport, you can access the Hyatt Ziva resort next door, and it's adults only.

What resort is next on your list?
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos for sure. Our representative at the resort just posted a picture of this set up on the beach that I just have to go to!

What's your top tip for picking the right resort for each traveller?
You have to spend time asking questions and getting to know each person's preferences. I like to ask each person where they have stayed in the past. Then I ask what was their favorite and least favorite and why. This gives me a better picture of what they might like, and I can match them to the best place for them, even if they don't know exactly what they're looking for.
