Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park
The Cypress Hills, which were never glaciated, have a rich and exciting history. They are known as an erosional plateau, having been formed by millions of years of sedimentary deposition followed by millions of years of erosion. An archaeology project started in the 1970’s at the Stampede Site near the Elkwater townsite, has revealed human inhabitation of the hills for more than 8,500 years.
Mennonite Heritage Village
Hitch your horses and pack your luggage for a harrowing tale of migration and settlement at the Mennonite Heritage Village. Travel through time to a turn-of-the century Russian Mennonite street village on a 40 acre site, taste traditional Mennonite fare at the museum’s Livery Barn Restaurant, and explore a classic Mennonite housebarn and a fully operational Dutch windmill during our summer season.
Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre
The Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre (CFDC) previously Morden and District Museum currently houses the largest collection of marine vertebrates in Canada. This large fossil collection has led the museum to a continuous need for expansion and improvement, even at the present time.
