Cayucos Beach town is nestled between Cambria to the north and Morro Bay to the south along California State Route 1 on the Coast of San Luis Obispo County of California. The town is home to about 2592 people who are largely dependent on tourism as a source of livelihood.
Traditionally, the town was the ancestral home of Chumash people who settled there at around 11,000 to 10,000 BC. In 1842 however, Martin Olivera and Vincente Feliz received the Mexican land grant of the Rancho Moro y Cayucos and in 1867, Captain James Cass settled on 320 acres where he established the town of Cayucos.
The ever popular Cayucos State Beach prompted Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel Magazine to declare the Cayucos Town as one of the coolest small towns in the US.
The Cayucos Pier is one of the best surfing destinations in the USA's Pacific Coast. Tourists here get to enjoy all kinds of water sports ranging from surfing, kiting, boat rides, fishing, snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing.
